A notable phone we had the chance to review is the Motorola A840, a phone that was designed to compete a very competitive market. Launched around 01/4/2005 the A840 is supporting the networks CDMA 800 / 1900 / GSM 900 / 1800. Measuring only 107 x 53 x 24 mm and weighting only 115 g, this phone is just the perfect size. The Motorola A840 is equipped with an interesting camera of 1.2 MP / 1280 x 960 px / 4X Zoom / Flash / Video Recorder. It comes with a 820 mAh Li-Ion battery, enough to talk for about 4.17 hours and provides in standby mode 185 hours. Its creators incorporated a 16 MB memory, a good quantity for a regular use! Adding to its internal memory you can augment it with external memory with TransFlash / microSD memory cards.
An attractive option of the Motorola A840 is the speaker phone, which is always useful in loud places! The nice screen of this cell phone lets setting a wallpaper of 176 x 220 px. Motorola built the A840 with a 64 chords ringtones engine, making a great phone for you to add all the ringtones you wish. The game collection included in the Motorola A840 runs on BREW, which supports many fun games! Not surprisingly, being standard in all cell phone, the A840 offers both services EMS and SMS messaging.
Adding to that it supports MMS messaging to send pictures and any multimedia file! The cell phone comes with a calendar which is very intuitive and Motorola included a phone book having a capacity of 500. The text prediction tool is using the iTAP technology, which is very easy to use. The data transfer uses the GPRS (Class 10) / cdma2000 1xRTT technology.
The phone may be connected to a computer with a cable to transfer data between both systems. We believe the Motorola A840 to be a great cell phone and we would recommend it to someone in search of a good phone!
