Motorola V540 review
An outstanding phone we had the chance to review is the Motorola V540, a cell phone that has been created to compete this year's market. Released around 01/7/2005 the V540 functions under the networks GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. Having a dimension of only 89 x 49 x 25 mm and having a weight of only 114 g, this phone is just the perfect size. The phone is equipped with a 820 mAh Li-Ion battery which lets you talk for about 4.25 hours and provides in standby mode 255 hours. Its creators added a 5 MB memory, just enough a normal use! An interesting option of the Motorola V540 is the speaker phone, being a useful tool anywhere! The large screen is capable of setting wallpapers of 176 x 220 px.
If you like phones that uses skins you will like to know the V540 supports custom themes. The game collection included in the Motorola V540 is running on J2ME, having cool little games to play with! Unsurprisingly, since it is now standard in all phones, the V540 offers both services EMS and SMS messaging. Additionally it has MMS messaging to send pictures and clips! The phone includes a calendar which is very intuitive and Motorola provided a phone book with a capacity of 1000.
The predictive text system exploits the iTAP technology, which is very easy to use. The High speed data transfer is using the EDGE / GPRS (Class 10) technology. Connection to a computer is supported with a cable to exchange ringtones, wallpapers, etc. We conclude believing the Motorola V540 to be a very attractive companion cell phone and we happily suggest it to anyone interested in a good phone!
