NEC 515 review
A fantastic cell phone we had the chance to review is the NEC 515, a phone that was designed to rival the mobile phone market. Released around 01/7/2003 the 515 is supporting the networks GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. Being of size 105 x 48 x 27 mm and having a weight of only 100 g, this phone has a perfect design. This phone arrives with a 800 mAh Li-Ion battery, letting a talk time of 4.50 hours and lets in standby mode about 205 hours. Its creators added a 1 MB memory, a good quantity for a regular use! The large screen lets setting a wallpaper of 162 x 180 px. NEC has equipped its 515 with a 40 chords ringtone player, ready for you to add a lot of ringtones.
If you want a customizable phone you will be happy to know the 515 enables custom. The game collection included in the NEC 515 is based on J2ME, having cool games to distract yourself! Unsurprisingly, since it is now standard in all phones, the 515 offers both services EMS and SMS messaging. It also supports MMS messaging to send pictures and clips! The cell phone comes with a calendar which is well designed and NEC included a phone book enabling a contact list of 500.
The text prediction tool is using the T9 technology, which is very easy to use. The data transfer is using the GPRS (Class 8) technology. The 515 is built with an infrared port for all your data transfer. Connection to a computer is possible with a cable to share information. We believe the NEC 515 to be a very attractive companion cell phone and we would recommend it to our readers!
