Nokia 2855 review
A special phone we had the chance to review is the Nokia 2855, a phone that was designed to revolutionize a very competitive market. Unveiled around 01/4/2006 the 2855 is supporting the networks AMPS 800 / CDMA 800 / 1900. Measuring only 85 x 44 x 25 mm while weighting only 110 g, this phone has a perfect design. The phone is equipped with a 1070 mAh Li-Ion battery, letting a talk time of 3.60 hours and provides in standby mode 336 hours. Its engineers included a 12.0 MB memory, just enough for a regular use! An attractive option of the Nokia 2855 is the speaker phone, which is useful in the car for example! The screen on this cell phone lets installation of wallpapers of 128 x 160 px.
Nokia has designed its 2855 with a 64 chords ringtones engine, making a great phone for you to add a lot of ringtones. If you like skinnable phones you will be happy the 2855 has customizable themes enabled. The gaming system included in the Nokia 2855 runs on J2ME, providing cool little games! Not surprisingly, since it is now standard in all phones, the 2855 enables both SMS and EMS. Adding to that it supports MMS messaging to send pictures and clips! The calendar available is well designed and Nokia equipped it with a phone book enabling a contact list of 500.
The predictive text system is based on the T9 technology, which is very easy to use. The 2855 is supporting streaming media of type exploiting the H.263 / MPEG-4 technology. The data transfer is using the cdma2000 1xRTT technology. Connection to a computer is supported with a cable to transfer information.
We have found the Nokia 2855 to be a very interesting cell phone and we happily suggest it to someone in search of a good phone!
