A notable phone we had the chance to review is the Samsung SCH-A970, a phone that was conceived to revolutionize the mobile phone market. Launched around 01/10/2005 the SCH-A970 functions under the networks CDMA 800 / 1900. Being of size 95 x 51 x 25 mm while weighting only 144 g, this phone is just the perfect size. The Samsung SCH-A970 also includes an interesting camera of 2.0 MP / 1280 x 960 px / 2X Optical Zoom / Flash / Self-Timer / Video Recorder. This cell phone comes with a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery, enough to talk for about 4.58 hours and lasts in standby around 336 hours. Its creators incorporated a 60 MB memory, just enough a normal use! Adding to its internal memory you can augment it with external memory with microSD / TransFlash memory cards.
An interesting option of the Samsung SCH-A970 is the speaker phone, which is useful in the car for example! The nice screen of this cell phone is capable of setting wallpapers of 176 x 220 px. Samsung has equipped its SCH-A970 with a 64 chords ringtone player, ready for you to add all the ringtones you wish. If you like skinnable phones you will be happy to know the SCH-A970 supports custom themes.
The gaming engine Samsung SCH-A970 is running on BREW / 3D Gaming, providing cool games to play with! Unsurprisingly, being a standard in the industry, the SCH-A970 has support for both SMS and EMS. It also supports MMS messaging to send all your multimedia messages! The cell phone comes with a calendar which is very intuitive and Samsung provided a phone book with a capacity of 500. The text prediction tool exploits the T9 technology, being very easy to use.
The SCH-A970 supports streaming media using the VCAST technology. The data transfer uses the cdma2000 1xEV-DO technology.
